One Mic Stand 2: Karan Johar had a blast working with comedian Sumukhi Suresh on Amazon Prime show

One Mic Stand 2, which also features Sunny Leone, Raftaar, Chetan Bhagat and Faye D'Souza, is set to release on October 22.

Amazon Originals One Mic Stand 2 is all set to release this week. The much-awaited comedy reality show is back with a few famous faces of India. The upcoming reality series also stars Karan Johar, who recently shared his experience of being a stand-up comedian in the show.

The ace filmmaker recently said in a statement, “Comedy is one of the most loved genres on streaming sites so naturally when I got a call to do One Mic Stand 2 I had to say yes.” He further mentioned that he is a sport when it comes to taking a joke, and now he finally got the opportunity to do it himself. “I wanted to take up this challenge because I have been in front of the camera several times but this show is not even remotely close to what I have done in the past,” he added in the statement.

He also mentioned that he was especially attracted to the format of the show, which is perfect because the comedians have got the chance to connect with the audience more candidly. He also finds the show’s format to get artists from completely different worlds and immerse themselves in comedy beautiful.

One Mic Stand 2 also stars Sunny Leone, Raftaar, Chetan Bhagat and Faye D'Souza. And all these celebrities will be mentored by Samay Raina, Neeti Palta, Atul Khatri, Sumukhi Suresh and Abish Mathew.

On working with his mentor Sumukhi Suresh, Karan said, “Sumukhi was such a blast to work with, her humour is always so well-timed." He also mentioned that the ace comedian understood his voice and guided him in writing a set that fits him like a glove. They both connected over their common love for creating content.

One Mic Stand Season 2 is releasing on October 22 on Amazon Prime Video.
