Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, directed by Simple Suni and featuring Vinay Rajkumar in the lead, will be in theatres on February 8
Filmmaker Simple Suni has worked on multiple films in recent times, there was the two-part Avatara Purusha, the second of which is yet to release, Gatha Vaibhava and Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe. And it is the last one that gets its date with audiences first. Led by Vinay Rajkumar, who plays an aspiring music director and featuring two leading ladies, Mallika Singh (of RadhaKrishn fame) and Swathishta Krishnan, the film was recently censored and received a clean U/A certification, ahead of its February 8 theatrical outing. Suni is yet to reveal a trailer, but he’s now got two songs from the Veer Samarth musical in the public domain, with the second, Gunu Gunugu, released moments ago.
Sung by Keshav Anand, with lyrics by Sachin Sanghe, Gunu Gunugu is a soothing romantic number featuring Vinay and Mallika. Golden Star Ganesh, who has done two films with Suni – Chamak and Sakkath – released Gunu Gunugu today, a song that he said is right up is alley, with a hook line that he found catchy. Gunu Gunugu, meanwhile, is the only number from the film that has a choreography and has the lead cast – Vinay and Mallika – busting a couple of moves.
Vinay Rajkumar: I am a huge fan of romcoms so, I feel lucky to be part of a Simple Suni film
Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe is a romantic comedy that the makers have described as a musical odyssey with as many as 11 songs, two of which have now been released. “I play Athishay, an aspiring music director, who lives with his family in Chikpete. Suni has woven a beautiful story around this family,” said Vinay at the song launch, adding that fans who have been eager to see him in an action avatar will have to wait a tad longer. “Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe is a film about love; the next one will be action,” he assured them.
In an earlier interview, Vinay had explained that Athishay has three main goals, starting with being surrounded by music all the time, to become a successful music director and find his dream girl. Following Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, Vinay has an exciting line up of films, including Pepe and Andonditu Kaala, followed by Gramayana, which was recently relaunched.
