Happy Onam 2023! Onam is a popular harvest festival celebrated predominantly in Kerala. With a spectrum of cultural events, Onam commemorates King Mahabali and Vamana. To celebrate the joyous occasion, popular actress Malaika Arora is spending quality time with her family and close friends.
On Instagram today, Malaika shared a bunch of photos featuring her sister Amruta Arora and her parents, Joyce Polycarp and Anil Arora. For the day, Malaika decked herself up with a traditional golden-coloured salwaar suit. Malaika’s mother, on the other hand, chose to wear a comfortable South Indian-style saree.
To add charm to the occasion, Malaika’s family were joined by Amruta’s husband, businessman Shakeel Ladak. Amruta and Shakeel have two sons namely Azaan and Rayaan – both of whom graced the occasion with their delightful presence at the venue.
Captioning these beautiful moments on Instagram, Malaika Arora wrote, “Happy Onam. Wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous Onam… Momsy, you are the world’s best cook, and feeding friends and family makes you the happiest @joycearora #onam#sadya#onashamsakal”
For the uninitiated, Malaika’s mother’s family hails from Kerala.
Soon after Malaika dropped a bunch of photos and videos on Instagram, popular Bollywood celebrities namely Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Farah Khan Kunder, and Nimrat Kaur greeted Malaika and her family on the occasion.

Was Arjun Kapoor absent from festivities?
In all the glimpses shared by Malaika Arora, the absence of her boyfriend Arjun Kapoor can be truly felt. These days, rumours are rife that all is not well between Arjun and Malaika. Some reports suggest that the two have mutually parted ways after years of dating each other. Malaika even unfollowed the family members of Arjun Kapoor, namely Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Anshula Kapoor. Only time will confirm whether these news reports are true.
