Amit Jain replaced Ashneer Grover on the second season of the popular business reality show.
Shark Tank India is back with yet another glorious season, which made its way onto the silver screen on Monday. Viewers were more than a little keen to welcome back the sharks, including Lenskart CEO and co-founder Peyush Bansal, Shaadi.com founder and CEO Anupam Mittal, boAt CMO and co-founder Aman Gupta, Emcure Pharmaceuticals executive director Namita Thapar, and SUGAR Cosmetics CEO and co-founder Vineeta Singh. But despite the excitement, many netizens were made acutely aware of one huge difference this season- the absence of season 1 judge Ashneer Grover. Namita and Anupam seemed to have addressed the BharatPe founder’s absence in a recent interview.
In conversation with Rohan Joshi and Tanmay Bhat, the two sharks talked about why viewers should definitely tune into the second season of the show. Namita declared “The bottom line is, season 2 mein, the toxicity is out”.
While Tanmay managed to wave it away as a joke directed at Rannvijay Singha, something which Namita also jokingly confirmed, viewers could not help but wonder if the dig was directed at Ashneer. Rannvijay, who hosted the first season, was replaced by Rahul Dua for season 2.
Anupam also seemed to have taken a dig at Ashneer, as the former talked about what was different in season 2. Anupam spoke of how many entrepreneurs were humiliated last season, which does not happen in season 2.
The Shaadi.com CEO and founder went on to say that businesses could be criticised, but going after founders was unnecessary. Talking about the importance of respecting founders, Anupam also added that this season saw a number of founders who the sharks were impressed by, including the ones who managed to rake in great revenues and even came from small towns.
New episodes of Shark Tank India season 2 can be streamed on SonyLIV, from Monday to Friday at 10 PM.
