Indian 2 marks the reunion of director Shankar with Kamal Haasan after a gap of more than two decades.
Filmmaker Shankar has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with legendary actor Kamal Haasan on his upcoming movie Indian 2. He has shared an unseen behind-the-scenes photo from the sets of Indian 2 to mark the 69th birthday celebration of Kamal Haasan.
"Wishing our Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan sir a very happy birthday! It is wonderful to have had the chance to work with you again to bring Senapathy back! Hope you keep entertaining us and continue to inspire millions more! #indian2," he tweeted.
Indian 2 marks the reunion of Shankar with Kamal after a gap of more than two decades. The actor-director duo took the Indian film industry by storm with their maiden collaboration Indian. The 1996 movie was not just a box office blockbuster but it also became a milestone in Tamil cinema.

Indian gave Kamal one of the iconic characters of his career - Indian 'thatha.' The film narrated the efforts of an aged freedom fighter to rid the country of corruption. A follower of Netaji, Indian 'thatha' takes up the arm when the country once again faces threat due to the menace of bribery. At the end of the movie, Indian escapes and warns the public that he will return when the country needs his support.

Last week, the producers released a music video giving us the first glimpses of Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster. The video shows that corruption in the country is out of control and it's crushing the lives of the working class, prompting people of the country to create a social media trend #ComeBackIndian. And Indian 'thatha' answers the SOS call as he comes back fully prepared to relaunch his war on bribery and all forms of corruption.
