OMG 2 on OTT: Here’s where you can watch Akshay Kumar-Pankaj Tripathi's social drama after its theatrical run
On August 11, 2023, Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 the follow-up to the 2012 hit OMG - Oh My God, is scheduled to release in theatres. The satirical comedy-drama, in which Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam also appear, is on the contentious issue of sex education in Indian schools. There is some good news, though, for those who can't see the movie at a theatre. After its theatrical run, the movie will be accessible for streaming on Jio Cinema, Reliance Jio's online service.
Jio Cinema reportedly paid a staggering Rs 150 crore for the digital rights to OMG 2, according to a Republic World article. After eight weeks of its theatrical run, the movie will be streamed on JioCinema, which means that as of October 6, 2023, it will be accessible online.
OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai, and Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, Wakaoo Films, and Rajesh Bahl are the producers. Akshay Kumar plays the messenger of Lord Shiva in the movie. Pankaj Tripathi plays Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devoted Shiva devotee who resolves to fight the educational system for deceiving his kid about sex education. Arun Govil also plays the principal role in the movie, Govind Namdev plays the pujari, Brijendra Kala as Doctor, and Pavan Malhotra plays Judge Purushottam Nagar.
OMG 2 is anticipated to be a box office smash but it will also clash with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 at the box office. Both films have a sizable fan base and are sequels to cult classics. In terms of genre appeal and star strength, OMG 2 outperforms Gadar 2.
