OMG 2 box office collection Day 8: Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi's film keeps slow and steady pace towards 100-crore mark

The Amit Rai directorial is a spiritual sequel to the hit 2012 blockbuster film of the same name.

OMG 2 has been one of the most talked about films for two weeks. Competing with Gadar 2 at the box office the Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer has been keeping a steady pace and slowly moving towards the 100-crore mark. On day 8, the Amit Rai directorial earned over Rs 5 crore.

According to a report on Sacnilk.com, OMG 2 minted almost Rs 5.6 crores on its second Friday, August 18. The first-week box office collection of Akshay's film is Rs 85.05 crore net total in India. Meanwhile, now it has crossed the mark of Rs 90 crore and steadily moving towards the 100-crore mark, which is anticipated to be crossed this weekend.

Day 1 - Rs 10.26 crore

Day 2 - Rs 15.3 crore

Day 3 - Rs 17.55 crore

Day 4 - Rs 12.06 crore

Day 5 - Rs 17.1 crore

Day 6 - Rs 7.2 crore

Day 7 - Rs 5.58 crore

Total Collection of Week 1 - Rs 85.05 crore

Day 8 - Rs 5.6 crore

Akshay Kumar's film has been competing with Gadar 2 since day 1. OMG 2 has gathered Rs 85.05 crore in its first week, while the Sunny Deol starrer minted Rs 284.63 crore.

The spiritual sequel to the hit 2012 blockbuster film is bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia, Vipul D. Shah, Rajesh Bahl and Ashwin Varde under the banners of Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios and Wakaoo Films.

OMG 2 is out in theatres now.
