OMG 2 box office collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer receives decent opening by minting over Rs 10 crore

The Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2 is finally out in theatres and has gathered immense attention from all over the country. Helmed by Amit Rai, the satirical dramedy has received quite mixed reviews from critics and fans. On the opening day, the latest movie has been successful in minting a box office collection of over Rs 10 crore.

According to a recent Instagram post by Viacom 18 Studious, OMG 2 has earned a net total of Rs 10.26 crore. The film could have minted a better sum of money, however, due to running along with Gadar 2 on the same day, has resulted in a slower start for the Akshay starrer.

Akshay fans have received the film well, while a few other cinephiles have shared their disappointment with the story.

A Twitter user posted that the film is good but the poor execution has made it a disappointment as well as there was nothing new in the dialogues as it seemed repetitive. However, a few moviegoers loved performances of the three pivotal actors.

It is too early to say if OMG 2 will ever be able to enter the 100-crore club. On the other hand, the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 seem to mint Rs 100 crore within the weekend.

Bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl, and Ashwin Varde under the banners of Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios and Wakaoo Films, the latest movie also has Pavan Malhotra, Govind Namdev, Arun Govil, and Brijendra Kala in key roles.

OMG 2 is out in theatres now.
