It’s the season of romcoms in Mollywood, and the latest to join the list that already features Pranaya Vilasam, Christy and Enkilum Chandrike, is Anikha Surendran and Melvin G Babu’s Oh My Darling.

The trailer of the movie, which released online recently and is currently trending, is replete with K-Drama vibes. From its K-pop tracks and references to the vibrant visuals, the film promises to be a treat for fans of K-drama. It’s also the first-of-its-kind experiment in Malayalam.

Anikha, who had made her debut as a child artiste in Chotta Mumbai back in 2007, is marking her debut role as the lead actress in Malayalam through Oh My Darling. She had played Anna Ben’s role in the Telugu remake of Kappela, titled Butta Bomma that released earlier this month.

Oh My Darling, which is expected to hit theatres on February 24, also has Mukesh, Lena and Johny Antony in pivotal roles. The latest trailer from the movie hints at a romance between the two leads and how things change between the duo as each have prioritise what they want from life.

The movie, which is helmed by Alfred D Samuel, is written by Jineesh K Joy and has Ansar Shah as its cinematographer. Manju Pillai, Vijaya Raghavan, Nandu, Archana Menon, Fukru, Dain Davis and Shaju Sreedhar are also part of the romcom that has Shaan Rahman composing its music and background score.

Shaan has scored the music for Pranaya Vilasam, which is again a romcom that has Arjun Ashokan, Mamitha Baiju and Anaswara Rajan in the lead. The film is set to release in theatres on February 17 along with Basil Joseph, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Niranjana Anoop’s Enkkilum Chandrike and Mathew Thomas and Malavika Mohanan’s Christy, which deals with teenage infatuation. The latter is scripted by noted writers Benyamin and GR Indugopan.
