The film, directed by Sujeeth, is produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment, that also backed RRR
Pawan Kalyan is one of the rare stars in Telugu cinema whose following remains unaffected despite hits or flops. He may have had more failures than successes in his career but the love for him among audiences has only multiplied with each appearance. In his filmography spanning nearly 25 years, Kushi was a towering achievement that propelled him to dizzying heights of stardom.
Most of the ‘isms’ we witness in the star’s films in the recent years began from Kushi and viewers can’t imagine a Pawan Kalyan film without his trademark body language and the occasional throwback to his earlier blockbusters. For OG, his next release after Bro, it is believed that Sujeeth has recreated Pawan Kalyan’s iconic intro sequence from Kushi where he practices martial arts.
A ‘behind the scenes’ still from OG was unveiled by a fan (who has named his handle after DVV Entertainment) where Pawan Kalyan’s pose resembles his first scene from Kushi. While we don’t know whether the photo was photoshopped or leaked from the film, fans are definitely hoping for it to be true. DVV Danayya is bankrolling the action entertainer on a huge canvas.
Emraan Hashmi will be making his Telugu debut as an antagonist in the film that also stars Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das and Sriya Reddy. S Thaman is composing the music for the same for which Ravi Chandran is cranking the camera. AS Prakash is the art director. OG is expected to release in theatres this December for Christmas.
Apart from Bro and OG, Pawan Kalyan will also be seen in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the Telugu remake of Theri, directed by Harish Shankar, in which Sreeleela is the female lead. The shoot of the periodical drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, will release in mid 2024.
