Odiyan OTT release date: When and where to watch Mohanlal, Manju Warrier’s film in Telugu

Mohanlal, the Malayalam star, has consistently enjoyed goodwill from Telugu audiences over multiple decades in the industry. The actor has had multiple releases in Telugu cinema in the recent years - including Janatha Garage, Manamantha and many dubbed versions of his popular Malayalam films went onto to fetch profits for the distributors. One of his hit Malayalam film is set to entertain Telugu crowds now.

Odiyan was one of the most hyped films in the career of Mohanlal, which had him pair up alongside Manju Warrier. Prakash Raj, Siddique and Innocent too essayed crucial roles in the drama directed by V A Shrikumar Menon. Despite earning negative reviews from critics, the film turned out to be a massive success at the box office, collecting over Rs 50 crore.

While Odiyan’s original version is now available to watch on Jio Cinema, the digital rights of the Telugu dubbed version were sold to ETV Win for an impressive price. The OTT platform, owned by the Eenadu group, has confirmed that the film would premiere on November 24. This is certainly good news for Mohanlal fans in Telugu, eager to watch the film in their own language.

The story revolves around Manikyan, an infamous Odiyan, who returns to his village after a 15 year exile to meet his lover Prabha and his friends, including Damodharan and other. However, he is not received well by the village residents, with Prabha’s brother Ravunni Nair holding personal grudge against him. Is there a happy ending in store for the protagonist?

Antony Perumbavoor, Mohanlal’s regular collaborator, bankrolled the film under Aashirvad Cinemas while Shaji Kumar cranked the camera. Johnkutty is the editor. Apart from Alone in Malayalam, Mohanlal sparkled in a cameo in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Jailer in 2023. Some of his upcoming films include Malaikottai Valiban, his directorial debut Barroz and the multilingual project Vrushabha.
