Odela 2 movie - Tamannaah welcomed onboard Sampath Nandi’s crime thriller sequel

The shooting for director Ashok Teja's Odela 2 movie has officially commenced and the latest is that Tamannaah is a part of the cast

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to star in Sampath Nandi’s crime thriller Odela 2 movie. The actress' last Telugu film, Chiranjeevi's Bhola Shankar in 2023, failed to impress audiences. But she is looking to change that with the sequel to the crime thriller film Odela Railway Station, Odela 2.

Written by director and screenwriter Sampath Nandi and directed by Ashok Teja, the movie is being bankrolled by D Madhu under the Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks banners. With Tammannaah now onboard, the shooting for the film has begun.

Odela 2 movie is a supernatural thriller

Writer Sampath Nandi took to his social media handles to share that the upcoming sequel is set to be a supernatural thriller. “A supernatural thriller killer promises,” he wrote.

Odela Railway Station, which was also directed by Ashok Teja, was a crime thriller that revolves around a serial killer who targets newly-married women in a village named Odela. The film starred Hebah Patel and Vasishta N Simha in leading roles, with Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamshi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal and Pooja Reddy in supporting roles.

Odela 2, which had reportedly gone on floors in Varanasi, will centre around the fictional village of Odela, its rich culture, heritage, and traditions, and how its true saviour, Odela Mallanna Swamy, always protects his village from evil forces. Tammannaah is expected to play a never-before-seen role in the film. More details regarding the project will be unveiled soon.

Will Odela 2 be a theatrical or an OTT release?

Thanks to the success of Odela Railway Station, Odela 2 is being made on a big budget. While the earlier film released directly on OTT, on Aha, it is expected that the sequel will be released in theatres. But there has been no official word on this yet.
