October 2021 Week 1 OTT movies, web series India releases: From Shiddat, Break Point to Britney vs Spears

The first week of October 2021 has multiple releases on OTT platforms streaming in English, Hindi and Tamil languages.

Shiddat; Britney vs Spears

October is finally falling on us this week, with this comes a new bunch of titles hitting your favourite OTT platforms in various genres. Another Britney Spears documentary titled Britney vs Spears is streaming on Netflix, while The Good Doctor season five is coming back on SonyLIV. Talking about the various movies, Shiddat is the only Bollywood film and Lift is the only Tamil film to stream on Disney+ Hotstar this week.

Meanwhile, Oho Gujarati is bringing a new series titled 110, whereas Ek Thi Begum is returning with the second season on MX Player. One of the most-awaited docudrama Break Point will stream on ZEE5 this week.

110: September 30 (Oho Gujarati)

The first season of Gujarati web series 110 will be out this week. The series conceptualised by Swapnil Dave features Kavin Dave, Jay Upadhyay, Sanjay Bhatia, Vaibhavi Bhatt, Brinda Trivedi and Rajan Thaker in the lead roles. The series is produced by Anish Shah and written by Abhinav Vaidya. While Nayan Jain, Abhishek Jain, Amit Desai and Suryadeep Basiya are the producers.

Bingo Hell: October 1 (Amazon Prime Video)

The fantasy horror-comedy is set against the backdrop of Barrio of Oak Springs where live a strong and stubborn group of elderly friends who refuse to be gentrified. Their leader named Lupita is the one who keeps them together as a community and a family. But their beloved Bingo hall is about to be sold to a much more powerful force than money itself which they had no idea about.

Black as Night: October 1 (Amazon Prime Video)

The horror film is about a teenage girl with self-esteem issues. But she finds confidence in the most unlikely way, by spending her summer battling vampires that prey on New Orleans' disenfranchised. She takes the help of her best friend, the boy she's always pined for and a peculiar rich girl for it.

Break Point: October 1 (ZEE5)

The docudrama series traces the incredible journey of Indian tennis legends Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. It showcases their meteoric rise and also their shocking split. The series is the story of hard work, conflict and hope.

Britney vs Spears: September 28 (Netflix)

In the investigative documentary, journalist Jenny Eliscu and filmmaker Erin Lee Carr come together to unfold Britney Spears' fight for freedom. They have conducted exclusive interviews and got their hands on confidential evidence too.

Diana - The Musical: October 1 (Netflix)

Diana: The Musical is a Broadway show about the dazzling and devastating life of Princess Diana. The intimate and heartfelt show is the original musical which has been filmed in advance of its official Broadway opening.

Ek Thi Begum season 2: September 30 (MX Player)

Adhering to her vow to overturn Maqsood’s illegal empire and avenge her husband Zaheer’s death, Ashraf comes back as Leela Paswan. She dominates the man’s world while everyone in power from the underworld, cops to politicians are looking for her.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales: October 1 (Disney+ Hotstar)

In the animated action-adventure Dean, Poe and BB-8 face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising and also escape to make it back to their friends.

Lift: October 1 (Disney+ Hotstar)

Lift is about a day in the life of an IT professional Guru Prasad. He is forced to confront his claustrophobia after getting trapped in the lift of a nine-floor building. He faces a horrifying situation that he never expected to happen.

No One Gets Out Alive: September 29 (Netflix)

A desperate woman from Mexico moves into a rundown Cleveland board house without documentation. From there, unsettling cries and eerie visions begin for her.

Shiddat: October 1 (Disney+ Hotstar)

The movie is about Kartika and Jaggi, the perfect yin and yang pair. Although there's sparkling chemistry between them, destiny seems to have other plans in store. Kartika is all set to tie a knot with someone else in this heartbreaking yet scintillating love story.

Sounds Like Love: September 29 (Netflix)

Maca's career reaches an inflexion point just then her ex who broke her heart reappears in Madrid. But this time she turns to her friends for support.

The Good Doctor season 5: September 28 (SonyLIV)

The series returns for the fifth season and continues with the story of the surgical staff stationed at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. Dr Shaun Murphy, however, will witness a major change in himself and also at the hospital in the upcoming season.
