The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Nunakuzhi have released its trailer today (August 7), a week ahead of its theatrical release on August 15. The video, which features brief looks at each of the film's main characters, implies a hilarious chain of events brought about by lies that a group of people have been telling. With the much-awaited upcoming Malayalam film, director Jeethu Joseph and Basil Joseph teamed up on screen for the first time.

Trailer of Basil Joseph’s Nunakuzhi

In the trailer for the film, Basil Joseph plays Eby Zacharia Poozhikunnel, MD of Poozhikunnel Group of Companies. The remaining main characters are three police officers who are investigating a murder and are searching for a dead body, a broken couple played by Aju Varghese and Grace Antony, and a group of aspiring filmmakers. When they unexpectedly cross paths, things take a hysterical and chaotic turn. The trailer suggests that they must tell a series of lies in order to thrive. It also suggests that the movie is primarily focused on a day's events.

The two-minute video ends with a glimpse of Nikhila Vimal's role in the movie. The makers have not disclosed any additional information about her character, though. Similar to the teaser, the most recent trailer unmistakably points to a dark comedy with humour that stems from discord and misconceptions brought on by a web of lies.

What is Nunakuzhi all about?

Director Jeethu Joseph revealed during one of his media appearances that Nunakuzhi is a dark comedy. The hitmaker, who is attempting a different genre, added that the Basil Joseph film would rank among his best works. Nunakuzhi's screenplay was written by K R Krishnakumar, who had previously worked on Jeethu Joseph directorials, 12th Man and Kooman. Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Baiju Santhosh, and Althaf Salim play supporting roles. The production companies in charge of this project are Bedtime Stories and Yoodle Films.
