Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat’s Jaane Jaan has become the most trending non-English film on Netflix, with over 8 million streams worldwide. Director Sujoy Ghosh’s film, which marks Kareena’s OTT debut, is a crime mystery with undertones of love, drama and fantasy. Celebrating the success of the film, Kareena revealed in an interview recently that Sridevi was her childhood inspiration and that she is an actress because of her.

Kareena Kapoor’s childhood inspiration
During a discussion involving Jaideep, Vijay and Kareena, Jaideep asked his two co-actors about who their childhood inspirations were and the role models that inspired them to become actors. Kareena promptly said that she was inspired by Sridevi and that she became an actress because of her. “I think I’ve watched Chaalbaaz and Khuda Gawah 20-25 times. Sridevi was so natural. I loved her comedy,” she said.
Vijay Varma was inspired by Charlie Chaplin and Bruce Lee
Replying to the same question, Vijay said that Charlie Chaplin was a major influence on him when he was a little boy. Recalling an incident from his childhood, he said that he once hurt his leg on a pole while he was trying to imitate Bruce Lee.
Revealing his childhood inspiration, Jaideep said that he was obsessed with Akshay Kumar.
