Raghava Lawrence is awaiting the release of his most-awaited film, Jigarthanda Double X, which is gearing up to hit screens on November 10. The film stars SJ Suryah in the lead along with Raghava Lawrence marking their maiden collaboration with popular filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The film is said to be a spiritual successor to Jigarthanda (2014).
Raghava Lawrence was the original choice to play Assault Sethu
The character of gangster-turned-filmmaker Assault Sethu in Jigarthanda was a milestone in Bobby Simha's career. The film went on to fetch him the National Award for the Best Supporting Actor at the National Film Awards. On the other hand, the film's editor Vivek Harshan won the award for Best Editing.
But did you know that it was Raghava Lawrence who was the original choice to play Assault Sethu. During the promotions of Jigarthanda Double X, Raghava spilled the beans on the same and he couldn't take up the project at that time. But he promised an action-packed adventure in the upcoming film and said that the film will appeal to all sections of the audience, with the first half primarily children and second half for the family audience.

Star cast of Jigarthanda
Jigarthanda starred Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Lakshmi Menon, Karunakaran and Guru Somasundaram in the lead. The film was remade in Kannada with the same title, Hindi as Bachchhan Paandey, and in Telugu as Gaddalakonda Ganesh.
Rajinikanth approached for Kanchana 2?
Raghava Lawrence also revealed that Superstar Rajinikanth himself was approached for the sequel to Kanchana 2. But later he decided that the film wouldn't suit him.
All about Jigarthanda Double X
The plot is set in 1975 and Raghava Lawrence is all gearing up to be cast as the first dark-complexioned hero in Tamil cinema. SJ Suryah is a filmmaker, who will be directing the film, which is titled Pandyaa. Meanwhile, a number of gangsters are planning to take down Raghava LAwrence in the film. Jigarthanda Double X is bankrolled by Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations and Invenio Origin.
