The actress found the journey of her character Aparna intense and riveting. As the second season of Noshtoneer is set to be dropped on Hoichoi on July 26, Sandipta talks about the series.
Directed by Aditi Roy, the show features Shoumo Banerjee and others. This time, Ushasi Ray gets inducted into the series. In the first season, we see Aparna’s blissful family life go up got a toss when her professor husband Rishabh faces #MeToo charges. “The second season starts from the last scene of the first season and hence, my character does not go through any drastic change. However, the character arc follows an interesting journey,” says the actress.
Sandipta teams up with this new character played by Ushasi. Both of them have something in common: their television background. How was her experience? “I cannot say a word about her character. That will be revealed in the second season. However, working with Ushasi was lovely. She is sincere about her work. She was serious on the set and worked diligently,” she says.

In the first season of the series, Aparna refuses to take Rushabh’s side by compromising with what is right. Can Sandipta see herself in Aparna’s character? “It’s difficult to be in somebody else’s shoes, you know. I may claim that I would stand by what is right. But I have never been in such a situation and I hope nobody ever gets to face what Aparna faces,” she said.

Sandipta, meanwhile, is also worried about the ongoing tiff between Federation of Cine Technicians Workers of Eastern India and director Rahool Mukherjee. “The financial state of our industry is not great. Many of us don’t get to work around the year. In such a situation, taking someone’s work cannot be acceptable. A body like the Federation should ensure working rights instead of curbing it,” the actress signs out.
