The actor recalls his Cannes visit for his film ‘Monsoon Shootout’
The excitement levels for the ongoing Cannes Festival has been really peaking up. And the Indian celebrities are definitely having a ball of a time at the global festival. For the unversed, the Indian celebrities who are a part of this year’s Cannes Festival include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan, Esha Gupta, Urvashi Rautela, Manushi Chhillar and Mrunal Thakur. Besides them, there are also the Oscar winning filmmaker Guneet Monga alongwith filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and the extremely talented actor Vijay Varma amongst others.
Speaking of Vijay Varma, he recently spoke to the RJ-turned-Youtuber Sucharita Tyagi about his overall experience with the prestigious Cannes Festival. When asked about how he felt about to be a part of the Indian delegation, he said it really felt awesome and that he was filled with pride that they found him suitable for this. He added that he felt so indebted and extremely excited to be a part of this and to represent India.
Recalling his past Cannes experience, Vijay Varma said that, it was in the year 2013 when he had finished the Hindi film ‘Monsoon Shootout’, after which he got the news that the film was going to Cannes. He also stated that, as compared to last time, this time round, he had come with a bit of responsibility which he was enjoying.
And when Vijay Varma was asked about how things changed for him after Cannes, he said that it did a great deal to his confidence. At that time, he also realised that, none of the Indian media was interested in talking to him, which was a bit of a shock to him. He also added that, not even a single person interviewed him. When asked about the future projects, he said that there are some exciting stuffs lined up and that he wanted to switch some gears, which would happen soon enough.
