The Islahuddin NS directed film was announced as a straight-to-OTT release on Zee 5 in June
Actor Rishi’s next, Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege (NSIIH), which pairs him yet again with his Sarvajanikarige Suvarnavakaasha co-star Dhanya Balakrishnan, is headed for a direct-to-OTT release. It was earlier revealed that Zee5 had purchased the Islahuddin NS directed dark comedy and today, the team announced that it would be available to stream starting July 22.
Announcing the film’s OTT release, Rishi had written on social media, ““Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege' is a film that we made with a lot of heart. This is a story of a man battling depression and suicidal thoughts. A story that has a strong social and emotional message told with simplicity and great humor. As a team, our goal is always to reach a wide audience in the best way possible. With this film, it was clear to us that a direct OTT release is the best way to meet our audience.”
According to the film’s teaser that came out in February this year, the narrative follows a simple line – to not give up on life. And yet, the teaser of NSIIH shows Rishi, as Sai, attempting to commit suicide following love failure. According to director Islahuddin, the adventures that Sai goes through in his attempts to end his life forms the humorous situations in the film. Rishi has been quoted as saying that even though NSIIH is a comedy, it explores serious topics such as heartbreak, depression, and suicide without making a caricature of any of them. “It is the story of Sai Kumar, a victim of his own imagination. Post breaking up with his girlfriend, his life goes downhill, causing him depression,” he had told a media outlet.
Meanwhile, Rishi is also awaiting the release of the comedy Ramana Avatara, which is also a StarFab production like NSIIH. He is paired with Pranitha Subhash in the film. There’s the much-delayed Sakalakala Vallabhan also, which was meant to be Reba John’s Kannada film debut, but then her second, Rathnan Prapancha came out earlier.
