Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana has hit a rough patch with one of the film’s co-producers, Madhu Mantena, reportedly withdrawing from director Nitesh Tiwari's film that is slated to be released next year. Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind were co-producing the movie, but as per a report in Siasat, Madhu has since walked out of the film. As of this moment, it is unknown what motivated Mantena to take this decision. It should be mentioned that his withdrawal has not yet been formally acknowledged by the creators.

Recent additions to Ramayana Cast and Crew

It turns out that replacing Mantena is Namit Malhotra, the CEO of the Oscar-winning VFX company DNEG. The VFX business has contributed to several successful motion pictures, including Dune, E Machina, Oppenheimer, First Man, and Interstellar.

Another update from the film is that according to some reports, Amitabh Bachchan has been cast as King Dashrath. Currently, though, there is no formal confirmation about this.

Ram will be played by Ranbir Kapoor and Sita by Sai Pallavi. Alia Bhatt was in talks to play Sita before Sai Pallavi, but she had to back out due of date-related issues. While Sunny Deol is supposedly signed for the character of Hanuman, KGF star Yash is set to play Ravana in the film. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also in discussions to play Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana, respectively. It is anticipated that the filming for Ramayana will begin in summer this year.

Ranbir Kapoor’s prep for Ramayana

It was reported earlier that Ranbir is training his voice and diction for the movie. “Ranbir has a certain baritone and a way of speaking his lines. It is symbolic and if you have even closed your eyes, you can recognise a dialogue purely based on Ranbir’s voice. In Ramayana, Nitesh wants to make sure that Ranbir sounds different from the characters he’s played in the past. Being a versatile actor, Ranbir is enjoying this process of trying something new,” a source from the team had told India Today.
