The supernatural horror film is based on Adam Nevill’s 2014 novel of the same name. It tells the story of a young woman who moves into a boarding house and starts to experience mysterious phenomena.

A trailer for the film signals an unsettling horror film rife with dark moments that creep up on you. From disappearing acts, ominous signs to a man harbouring a terrible secret, the trailer promises the classic elements of a horror film that make for a spooky watch.

Is No One Gets Out Alive film really scary?

According to reports in Collider, director Santiago Menghini had come on board for the adaptation as he was drawn to the peculiarity, ominous feel and harsh real-world depictions in the story. He also referenced how he thought the tone of it seemed to close in on the heroine and that he wanted to capture the mysterious elements of it on screen. He also said that he felt 'he just had to make it'. The director cites the series The Haunting of Hill House and the 2002 film Panic Room as his inspirations for his directorial, saying that he wanted to give a ‘foreboding’ character to the boarding room featured in the movie.
