Story:

Hae-yeong and Ji-uk end up in the same bed, with her ex-boyfriend U-Jae! No Gain No Love episode 7 commences with a flashback to the moment, and how it sets the tone for where the couple will end up in the future.

Review:

Episode 7 of No Gain No Love commences with Lee Sang-yi's Gyu-hyun and Secretary Yeo (Lee Yoo-jin) carrying Ji-uk (Kim Young-dae) and U-Jae (Go-wook) on their backs respectively. Meanwhile, Yi-lin (Jeon Hye-won) holds on to Shin Min-ah's Hae-yeong, who gives her a tight hug. They all get judged for the very moment, from the employees and the viewers. Ji-uk makes it further embarrassing with his conversation, but it makes for a funny moment nonetheless. He even gets a beating from Hae-yeong, but that further elevates the already hilarious scene.

Just as Gyu-hyun talks to Yu-lin, Secretary Yeo leaves an impression. He does not keep his thoughts to himself, and the scene is proof of that. The moment is a recap of how U-Jae ended up in the bed with Ji-uk and Hae-yeong. What follows is equally funny.

A line between suspense and comedy is drawn when Hae-yeong behaves like U-jae's close friend. Ji-uk and Yi-lin's reactions are something you wouldn't want to miss in the scene. She introduces a new twist, which is sure to make the show further interesting. Once again, all actors nail their reactions in the scene. Of course, Shin Min-ah takes the cake with various expressions one-after-another.

Given the kind of actors Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae are, their heartfelt conversation soon after reaches across. What happens in the next moment changes the game.

The moment that the last episode touched upon - the big mystery in Ji-uk's life - is also here, but the mystery doesn't unfold. This is mainly because Ji-uk doesn't wish for it to unfold. Although Kim Young-dae really shines in most scenes, this is not one of those glorious moments.

Hae-yeong going to take revenge on behalf of Hui-seong is a memorable and hilarious scene. The end of the scene, and of course, Shin Min-ah, is perfect.

Ja-yeon (Han Ji-hyun) acts cute, but it's not as cute as should have been. Once again, it is Shin Min-ah in the role of Hae-yeong, who dominates the scene.

Joo Min-kyung as Hui-seong shines in the trampoline scene. Gyu-hyun's father (Choi Jin-ho), on the other hand, is in his typical role. He is all about power. One of Ji-uk's highest moments on the show is his car romance with Hae-yeong. Soon after, it is U-Jae who steals the show.

The kimbap scene is epic, and Go-woo knocks it out of the park with his expressions. Shin Min-ah's reaction, unfortunately, goes overboard right before the scene comes to an end. More details on Ji-uk's past, this time in relation to Hae-yeong, gets revealed. The scene ends in light fun.

Gyu-hyun and Secretary Yeo share another moment. This is before Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon meet again. The latter is trying to run from Secretary Yeo, leaving all confused about the gesture. Somehow, Ja-yeon just gives in. Even though she's cute, nothing works in their favour, yet.

Ji-uk and Hae-yeong's peak romantic moment, a kiss they share, unfortunately, is now how you would have liked their first kiss to be. The epilogue is the exact opposite since they end up being the cutest couple on the block.

Verdict:

No Gain No Love episode 7 is most definitely not the best in the season. It has the cute moments and it makes you laugh. But, unlike the other previous episodes, not every moment is on point. The missing chemistry between the leads in the important moment is the biggest letdown in this particular episode.
