Dhanush's Vaathi, which was slated to hit screens on December 2, will release as planned, revealed a source close to the film. There has been a strong buzz on social media that the film's release is likely to be pushed. However, the latest tweet from a source close to the film, was retweeted by the film's production house, thus confirming the news. Check out the tweet below.
As the buzz around Dhanush's next Vaathi grows, the film's music composer GV Prakash has given a hot update about the film. He revealed on his social media handle that Dhanush has penned the lyrics for a song in Vaathi and that it will be out soon. He wrote, "First single of #Vaathi soon… Written by our poet @dhanushkraja… a love song… #Vaathi #Sir #Venkyatluri (sic)." The song is said to be a romantic number.
Vaathi is directed by Venky Atluri, and the film is a bilingual with the Telugu version titled Sir. The film we hear might be released in January or February. Vaathi features Samyuktha Menon as the leading lady. This is the maiden collaboration between Dhanush and Samyuktha, and Dhanush and Venky. As the title suggests, Dhanush plays a teacher in the film, who takes on the corrupt education system.
Dhanush has had a packed 2022 with four releases in his kitty- namely, Maaran, The Gray Man, Thiruchitrambalam and Naane Varuvean. Thiruchitrambalam emerged as one of the most profitable movies of the year and has found a huge fan following among the audience.
The actor has now moved on to his next, Captain Miller, which is helmed by Arun Matheswaran. The film's star cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel. Dhanush will sport long hair for the film which is said to be set in the 1920s. The title announcement poster has already set the internet on fire and the puja ceremony video became one of the most watched videos on social media. The shooting for the film is going in full swing.
