Action Hero Biju was a successful Malayalam film based on the life of a realistic police officer. The Abrid Shine-Nivin Pauly collaboration is still on the favourite list of Malayalam audiences. Now that the second part of the film is announced, the makers have shared a post, inviting actors to audition.

The casting call announcement was made via Nivin’s social media pages. In a humorous tone, the poster read that the makers are looking for ‘antisocials’, who can hide from the limelight. The poster also bears the signature of Biju Poulose (the lead character in the first part of Action Hero Biju).

The makers have been looking for actors for the second part of the movie for quite some time. An open audition for the film was also organised under the supervision of the director. Auditions conducted in Kochi attracted a diverse range of participants, including theatre and mimicry artists. With the director leading these auditions, it indicates the film’s production is imminent.

The inclusion of young talents with established actors garnered significant attention for the first instalment. Artists who entered the industry through the first part are busy actors today. The storyline revolves around diverse cases reported in a police station. The film’s comic elements and memorable music album have remained in the heart of its viewers. It also marked the entry of Nivin as a producer into the industry.

The film had Rajesh Murugesan as the composer, with the songs penned by Jerry Amaldev. Anu Emmanuel featured as the lead actress, while Joju George, Kalabhavan Prajod and Aristo Suresh played supporting characters. Action Hero Biju marked the second collaboration between Nivin and Abrid after 1983. Later, they joined hands again for Mahaveeryar which themed time travel and fantasy.

Meanwhile, Nivin has finished shooting Haneef Adeni’s film, titled Ramachandra Boss & Co. The movie shot in Dubai is touted to be a fun heist entertainer and also marks the reunion of Nivin with the director of Mikhael. The actor’s upcoming projects include Thaaram and a yet-to-be-titled film with the director of Jana Gana Mana. He will also appear in a cameo role for the film of Vineeth Sreenivasan, starring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan.

Despite receiving praise for his last performances in films like Mahaveeryar, Thuramukham, and Padavettu, Nivin did not achieve success at the box office.
