Nivin Pauly will join hands with director Ram for his next Tamil film. This will be Nivin’s third Tamil movie, after Richie and Alphonse Puthren’s bilingual Neram. The news was confirmed by Suresh Kamatchi, who will be bankrolling the upcoming movie under the banner of V House Production.
The yet-to-be-titled film will also feature Anjali and Soori in pivotal roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be its composer. The celebrated music director has previously collaborated with the director on his directorials.
The news about a bilingual film starring Nivin Pauly and directed by Ram has been making the rounds for some time now. The makers, however, have not yet confirmed if there will be a Malayalam version.
Sharing the news with the world, producer Suresh Kamatchi wrote on Twitter, “A new journey begins with the prestigious names of South Indian Cinema.” The producer is currently working in the production of Maanaadu. The Silambarasan-starrer is a big budget science fiction film and is directed by Venkat Prabhu, best known for helming Mankatha starring Ajith.
This is Ram’s fourth directorial. Having worked under the legendary Balu Mahendra, he made his debut in 2007 with Kattradhu Thamizh which went on to be a critically-acclaimed film. His latest was Peranbu in 2019, which starred Mammootty and received rave reviews.
Nivin Pauly has had a huge fanbase in Tamil since the release of the blockbuster Premam. The actor has completed shooting for Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham and Thuramukham which premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. He has a few more portions left in Padavettu and has already announced several projects including Bismi Special Gangs of Mundanmala and Thaaram.
