The film marks the reunion of Vineeth's heroes.
Buoyed by the success of his coming-of-age romantic drama film Hridayam writer-director Vineeth Sreenivasan is all set to collaborate with actor Pranav Mohanlal once again. The yet-to-be-titled movie will also feature Nivin Pauly and Dhyan Sreenivasan as key characters. The audience will see the three of them sharing screen space for the first time. Set in Chennai, the plot is said to be based on the life of the director’s father. And if the rumours are to be believed, Vineeth has already completed the script.
Nivin and Vineeth made their respective debuts as actor and director in the 2010 musical comedy film Malarvadi Arts Club. Later on, the duo worked together in Thattathin Marayathu Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Oru Vadakkan Selfie, which was scripted by Vineeth.
As Nivin’s Mahaveeryar Padavettu, Saturday Night and Thuramukham couldn’t perform so well at the box office, the actor’s pinning his hopes on his upcoming releases, which also includes Ramachandra Boss & Co. (directed by Haneef Adeni) and Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Ram. Meanwhile, Dhyan entered the industry through the thriller film Thira, directed by his brother Vineeth in 2013. The movie failed to perform commercially, but later received critical acclaim for its approach and treatment.
Released in 2022, Vineeth’s Hridayam with Pranav in the lead, became one of the biggest hits of the year, despite the setback posed by Covid-19. It also marked a turning point in Pranav’s career.
Vineeth’s other recent projects include Mukundan Unni Associates Thankam, Pookkaalam and Corona Papers. His performance in Thankam, produced by Bhavana Studios, and in Mukundan Unni Associates, led by debutant director Abhinav Sunder Nayak, were also lauded. He was also part of the 2018 cast, which became an industry hit this year. Vineeth’s other upcoming projects include the Jayalal Divakaran directorial, Kurukkan, which also marks the comeback of veteran actor Sreenivasan.
