Kangana Ranaut offered Indira Gandhi's grandchildren Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to her film Emergency's screening
Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari happened to be the very ever VIP member to attend the film screening of Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, which is finally cleared for release and will be out in theatres this Friday, on January 17. He watched the movie in theatres with the actress. Based on Indira Gandhi, the film covers the Emergency period. Thus, there was a moment where Kangana offered the current generation Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, an opportunity to watch the movie. Her reaction to the same is now going viral.
Kangana Ranaut revealed that she offered Priyanka Gandhi an opportunity to watch Emergency at the film's screening. The actress said it in passing and revealed the Congress MP's reaction on being told of the movie. After being taken aback a little, Priyanka Gandhi was ready to share 'facts about Emergency' that Kangana might probably not know. She further asked Gandhi to watch the movie, hoping she might like it. The response she got was 'hmm.'
Kangana also offered Rahul Gandhi an opportunity to watch the movie and revealed that he simply smirked in response. The actress was smitten by Priyanka's poise and called her gracious, in comparison to Rahul Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are Indira Gandhi's grandchildren. Their mother Sonia Gandhi plays an important role in the running political party efficiently since their father Rajiv Gandhi's sudden demise. The then-PM was assassinated by a suicide bomber back in 1991, during his rally in Tamil Nadu.
Emergency is inspired by Pupul Jayakar's autobiography. The movie stars Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as young Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Mahima Choudhary as Pupul Jayakar, and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram.
