Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwai is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor
Om Raut’s mythological drama film Adipurush - starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan - got engulfed in several controversies after it hit the theatres last month, making it somewhat difficult for other creators to work on a project on a similar topic. However, director Nitesh Tiwari remains undeterred, and is now getting ready to bring his version of the Ramayana to the big screen.

When asked in an interview with Zoom Entertainment about his plans of making Ramayana post Adipurush’s release, Nitesh said, “My question is very simple. I am also a consumer of the content that I create and if I’m not going to offend myself than I’m very confident that I might not end up offending anybody else.”
The filmmaker also hinted at the upcoming cast announcement, stating that it will be revealed ‘very soon’. Earlier, there were speculations that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor would be cast in the roles of Sita and Lord Ram, respectively.
Adipurush proved to be a dud at the box office after receiving bad reviews from the audience for its substandard visual effects and poor dialogue writing. Dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir recently took to Twitter and apologised for hurting the sentiments of his audience. He said, “I accept people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation.”
Nitesh is also gearing up for the release of Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film has captured the audience's attention since its trailer launch, primarily due to its connection with the Holocaust and World War II.
When discussing the subject, he stated, "We have explored the Indo-Pak wars, Indo-China war, Kargil, and everything in between, and some excellent work has been done. I felt that bringing something fresh for the audience was necessary, and this was one way to go."
