The story of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi, will be adapted into a multi-season series by Abundantia Entertainment.
The series will be based on ‘Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India’s Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi’ by Pavan C Lall. The book narrates Modi’s journey, via his personal encounters, interviews, and research conducted by the author, who is also an investigative journalist.
A detailed description on the rise and fall of the man who is behind the PNB scam, one of the biggest and shocking financial scandals of India, forms a major part of the book. Modi has been accused of money laundering, embezzlement and breach of contract.
The Indian Express reports that Lall will serve as consultant writer for the yet-to-be titled series. The cast and crew of the series is yet to be announced.
The scandal was previously covered in Netflix’s documentary Bad Boy Billionaires: India which also mentions other businessmen like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Ramalinga Raju and Subrata Roy.
