Earlier in the day, it was reported by many media outlets like Bollywoodlife.com, SpotBoyE that the Chhoti Sarrdaarni actor was a part of the show. Spotboye too reported that as per a source close to the show, the actor will make her OTT debut with the series and has bagged an ‘interesting role’ too.
But there was no official confirmation of the report from either the director or from Nimrit. Many such reports of floating rumours about actors being cast in the series were doing rounds and among the actors mentioned, well-known names like Juhi Chawla, Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi, Sonakshi Sinha have been cited. Yet there hasn’t been any official confirmation on the same.
On the other hand, Bhansali’s dream project, which is set in Lahore in Pakistan, in the red-light area that is called ‘Shahi Mohalla’ and revolves around the lives of the sex workers inhabiting the place, faced fire from Pakistani citizens on social media, following a comment by actor Ushna Shah. The major point of contention that the users put forth on social media is that of the politics of representation, wherein they said that Bhansali, being an Indian director isn’t rightfully authorised to tell the story of a locality in Pakistan. More details on Heeramandi are awaited.
