The movie, directed by Vysakh and scripted by Abhilash Pillai, hit theatres on March 11
Pulimurugan and Madhuraja director Vysakh’s latest entertainer Night Drive, starring Roshan Mathew, Anna Ben and Indrajith Sukumaran, hit theatres on March 11. The slick thriller, we have learnt will also be releasing on two OTT platforms after its theatrical run ends.
The movie, which revolves around a slew of incidents in the lives of a tainted minister, a police officer, a journalist and her boyfriend during a single night. Scripted by Abhilash Pillai, the film has Indrajith playing CI Benni Moopen while Anna Ben and Roshan Mathew play journalist Riya and Uber driver Georgy, respectively. Siddique plays the minister who is set to be arrested by National Investigation Agency after being suspected of his involvement in a gold smuggling racket.
Night Drive, which was shot during the pandemic, will be releasing on Netflix and Manorama Max, along with Simply South outside India. The streaming date of the movie is expected to be around Vishu in April, by when the movie will complete 30 days afters its theatrical release.
This could also mean that it could director Vysakh’s second OTT release in April. His movie with Mohanlal that is titled Monster is also rumoured to be a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar . The makers, however, is yet to officially confirm this.
Vysakh recently told OTTplay that Monster too is a thriller which is packed with several twists, each making way for entertaining moments in the film. The filmmaker, who had earlier worked with scriptwriter Udaykrishna and Mohanlal together in Pulimurugan, also told us that he was sure that the movie will work on both OTT platforms as well as theatres and so, he isn’t truly worried about the platform of the release its producer Antony Perumbavoor opts for. The director is set to wrap up its post-production soon.
