Choreographer and filmmaker Remo D'souza is excited about India's first hip-hop dance reality show on Amazon miniTV
National Award-winning dancer-choreographer and filmmaker Remo D'souza is gearing up for the release of India's first-ever hip-hop dance reality show, named Hip-Hop India. He shares why this is one of his favourite dancing styles.
Speaking about the show, Remo said in a press statment, "Dance transcends words and emotions; it has helped me achieve everything that I have today. Hip Hop particularly makes me feel alive in each moment of life."
He added that he has had a great journey so far, and is incredibly happy to take the next step with the new show, Hip Hop India, that will be available to stream on Amazon miniTV.
"This marks my first collaboration with the streaming service, and I’m excited to witness some mind-blowing hip-hop performances," Remo added.
He also shared the official poster for the show on social media. The format of the show is pretty standard: budding hip-hop dancers get a chance to prove their talent and win the hearts of the audience. Every week, they have to perform in front of a new celebrity dance judge, whom they have to impress while competing with other participants. In addition to this, a soon-to-be-revealed secret judge will determine who gets crowned India’s next big hip-hop sensation.
The makers have yet to announce the release date of the show. A reality show is like home to Remo, as he is known for being a judge on dance reality shows like Dance India Dance, Dance Plus, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
As a choreographer, Remo has won awards for popular Bollywood dance numbers in films like Student of the Year, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani, and Kalank. He also directed the dance franchise ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, Street Dancer 3D, and ABCD 2.
