We could all do with some liberal dose of positivity and joy during these grim times and that’s exactly what the first track from Nayanthara’s upcoming Tamil movie Netrikann delivers.
The song titled Idhuvum Kadandhu Pogum, which translates to ‘this too will pass’, is a feel-good and uplifting track, which is dedicated to frontline workers and every “hopeful heart surviving the pandemic”, according to the makers.
The soulful track from the Milind Rau directorial, is written by Karthik Nehta and rendered by Sid Sriram. The music is composed by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, who took to Twitter, to thank his colleagues.
“Thank you for the amazing lyrics @lyricist_kN, the wonderful aesthetics of @VigneshShivN, the patience of @Milind_Rau and of course the one and only @sidsriram (sic),” he tweeted.
The movie has Nayanthara playing a visually-impaired character. There were rumours that Netrikann is a remake of the Korean movie Blind, which has visually-impaired protagonist testifying against the culprit of a hit-and-run case and is later forced to confront him.
While the makers are yet to confirm if it’s a remake, the movie has Nayanthara playing a police cadet who loses her eyesight after an accident. The film also marks the debut production of Vignesh. There are also reports that the movie could be heading for an OTT release.
Nayanthara was last seen in the Malayalam film Nizhal, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
