Netizens strongly react to Rashmika Mandanna's viral deepfake video, say 'legal action must be taken'

A deepfake of Rashmika Mandanna has gone viral on social media. The clip features a woman entering the lift. However, the woman's face is morphed to show the actress' face. A lot of netizens were tricked into believing that it was the Pushpa actress. However, a section of social media was quick to point out that it was a deepfake video of Mandanna.

They have demanded strict action against the person who morphed Rashmika's face into the video. The original video is of British-Indian girl Zara Patel, who uploaded the video on Instagram on October 9, 2023.

Netizens react to Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video

After X user revealed it was a deepfake video of Rashmika, several netizens expressed displeasure over the same. They believe that legal action must be taken.

Rashmika Mandanna's fan club demanded strict action. "This is too much. Legal action should be taken against whoever has done this. Technology is a good thing as long as it is used properly. If it is misused, strict action should be taken against those who misuse it. Team RashmikaMandanna please look into this matter and complain about it at the appropriate place. This app is a threat not only to iamRashmika but to all the people who live in this society (sic)," their tweet read.

Amitabh Bachchan demands legal action

Rashmika's Goodbye co-star Amitabh Bachchan, too, demanded a legal action. The megastar took to his X account and wrote, "Yes this is a strong case for legal (sic)."

On the work front for Rashmika

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rashmika will next be seen in Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film marks her first on-screen collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. She will be seen playing Kapoor's love interest in the movie. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1. Animal will clash with Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh's Sam Bahadur at the box office.
