On the occasion of Ugadi (March 22), the makers of Dhruva Sarja’s next had revealed the latest addition to the cast. While she got a fairly warm welcome, her post irked netizens and how
Yesterday, on the occasion of Ugadi, the team of the Kannada film KD welcomed Shilpa Shetty Kundra on the cast. The actress will play Satyavati, as per the character reveal poster. Shilpa, who was last seen in the 2005 Kannada film Auto Shankar, returns to Sandalwood after nearly two decades with the Prem directorial. Excited about her comeback, Shilpa also took to social media to announce her role in the film, but the accompanying message she chose to post has landed her in hot water with Kannada film aficionados.

Taking to social media, Shilpa wrote, “Ugadi subhakankshalu🌼Gudi Padwyachya hardik shubheccha🌼On this auspicious day of NEW beginnings, I’m thrilled to share with you a NEW character entering the war in #KD's battlefield as #𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐲𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢.” Netizens, of course, were irked that the actress chose to use Telugu and Marathi new year wishes to announce that she’s doing a Kannada film. “@TheShilpaShetty Madam, u have wished in Telugu. It's a Kannada Movie, so please send ur wishes to us in Kannada also.....”, “Mangalore madam is acting in kannada movie but forgot to wish in kannada”, “Kannadadha hudgi aagi Kannada cinema ge Telugu alli wish madtira Andre en helbeku anta gotagthilla”, “It's should have been,' Ugadi Shubhashayagalu '!! A Kannada movie announcement and you have wished in Telugu🤦”, “Where is the wish in Kannada ? Do you at least know that the movie is made originally in Kannada”, “Kannada hudgi agi bere language nalli wish madtyalla ning enu ansalva Shilpa” – these were only some of the responses her post elicited.
Her Ugadi wish goof-up apart, Shilpa, who has worked with Crazy Star Ravichandran years ago, received a warm welcome to Kannada cinema, with netizens also wondering if she will be paired with the veteran actor or Sanjay Dutt, who is also on the cast. Meanwhile, leading man Dhruva, who had bulked up massively for his next, Martin, is currently in the process of shedding a lot of that mass, while still maintaining a sinewy frame for his role in Prem’s film.
