Netizens lap up Khichdi creator’s version of Friends reunion poster

JD Majethia’s meme has taken the internet by storm,

Imitation is the best form of flattery and the creator of the hit show Khichdi Jamnedas Majethia seems to have got it just right, when he posted his version of a Friends reunion poster that was lapped up by the netizens.

The anticipation of the special episode of Friends, which will have the cast reuniting 17 years after the series finale, has hit fever pitch lately with the episode dropping on May 27 on HBO Max and Zee5. It’s all that the fans of the show have been talking about the entire week, and meme-makers have been working overtime churning out content inspired from the show.

One particular meme that has been lauded by Indians fans was Khichdi actor and producer Majethia’s version of the Friends Reunion poster, with the cast of the Indian comedy show instead.

The producer shared the poster on his social media page with a caption that echoed Majethia’s character Himanshu’s trademark dialogue delivery style. “Ae baapu, aisa reunion manaenge, aisa reunion manaenge ke lage hee nai ki reunion manaya! (We are going to celebrate such a reunion that it won’t even seem like we are celebrating a reunion). This would be the perfect Indian reunion!! What say?” he wrote.

While fans have managed to bring back the famous six of Friends for the reunion episode that is also titled The One Where They Get Back Together, it remains to be seen if Khichdi’s die-hard followers can pull that off. If they do manage it, it would be a riot, that’s for sure!,
