Indrani Mukerjea Story - Buried Truth is set to release on Netflix on February 23, 2024.
The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth has become a hot topic of discussion amongst the viewers of Netflix who have been waiting for the show for quite some time now. True crime shows have forever been an area of interest for many and somewhere make the docu-series up for release on Netflix one of the most anticipated shows of the month. But the show hit a roadblock most recently when the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) moved to the court to bring a stay on the streaming of the docu-series. Turns out the court has now ordered a decision in favor of the streamer.
As per the latest update coming in, the court has now announced their verdict on the CBI’s appeal to bring a stay on the release of Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth. The Bar and Bench’s website has revealed that the Mumbai court on Tuesday took the matter and has rejected the plea of the CBI to ban the release.
The said documentary series is based on the true crime story of Sheena Bora going missing and a complete investigation unfolding around the case. Turns out the bureau has not found any help from the Mumbai court as it has announced an order in Netflix’s favor. Special CBI Judge SP Naik-Nimbalkar has passed the orders today, according to which the plea from the CBI has been rejected.
For the uninitiated, the CBI moved to the court against the Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth’s release on Netflix on February 17, 2024. According to CBI’s plea, the main accused Indrani Mukerjea, who is the lead subject of the show, is shown through the trial which is yet to conclude. The bureau wanted the court to order Indrani and everyone to refrain from participating in any such projects or platforms until the case concludes and a final hearing is done. Turns out the Mumbai court didn’t find any merit in the plea and decided to reject it.
According to reports Indrani Mukerjea has been accused of killing Sheena Bora with the help of her former husband Sanjeev Khanna, present husband Peter Mukerjea, and driver Shyamvar Rai. Mukerjea was arrested in 2015 and was charged under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 364 (kidnapping), 302 (murder), and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.
However, her bail plea was once rejected in November 2021 and the court granted Indrani Mukerjea bail in May 22. Now, there are no details what all and how much Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth on Netflix will feature of this story but the curiosity is at its all-time high. The docu-series is set to hit the streaming on February 23, 2024.
