The showrunner behind Netflix's Sweet Tooth, Jim Mickle recently took to his social media pages to post a behind-the-scenes footage, revealing the use of animatronics in developing and moving the hybrid human-groundhog character on the show, Bobby. In the video shared by Mickle, we see Bobby whose puppet is being walked by puppeteers. The character is not played by an actor but rather by a mere puppet. His head and torso are remotely controlled through two poles and his movements are controlled by puppeteers.

Opening to rave reviews by audiences, Sweet tooth produced by Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey is based on a DC comic series by the same name. The fantasy story is set in a post-apocalyptic world that is caused by a viral outbreak and has destroyed humankind around the same time when part-human/part-animal babies are born. The fear and uncertainty in the minds of remaining humans forced them to hunt down these hybrid babies and the show presents a heartfelt take on this issue of intolerance. Fans of the show have loved all the hybrid characters of the show, with a special inclination to Bobby the Gopher Boy.

Even though the show has yet not been renewed for a second season, fans are still hopeful to receive the news soon. Sweet Tooth is available to stream on Netflix.
