Manu C Kumar, director of Sesham Mikeil Fathima, remarked that the film will get the praise it deserves after releasing on Netflix on December 15. "The film sparked favorable reviews despite not having much of a rush in theatres. I think the movie would have a wider audience and a more prominent platform if it were released on Netflix," he stated.

The film's director went on to say that the audience would undoubtedly enjoy the lively performances of this woman-centric family entertainer.

Sesham Mikeil Fathima, which hit theatres on November 17, tells the story of Fathima, who aspires to become a football commentator. Her struggle against societal stigma and criticism for choosing a career in this "male-dominated" field, as well as her Malappuram slang, are also covered in the film.

"We had disclosed that Sesham Mikeil Fathima would be available on Netflix during the film's pooja ceremony. The platform had already read the script and expressed interest in it, Manu added.

Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music for the film, which also stars Femina George, Maala Parvathi, Sudheesh, and Shaheen Siddique.

Working with Kalyani Priyadarshan

Manu mentioned that he narrated the script to Kalyani Priyadarshan while she was working on Anoop Sathyan’s Varane Avashyamund. She was ideal for the role of Fathima because of her vivacious personality. She was not very proficient in Malayalam, so she was hesitant to dubbed the dialogues in her own voice. However, he added, "The script needs the female lead's voice in order to give the character genuineness.”

The director went on to say that prior to the shoot, Kalyani was given a script that was written entirely in Manglish (a method of writing Malayalam using English letters), and script assistant Azra Anjum made voice notes of Kalyani’s dialogues in Malappuram slang.

“Kalyani worked hard for this character. The script had lengthy dialogues with varied modulations. Actress Surabhi Lakshmi dubbed for some of the main scenes,” he said.
