Vivo chronicles the story of musically gifted Kinkajou ( a rainforest honey bear) who sets out from Havana to Miami to deliver a song to his owner’s long-lost love. Kirk DeMicco, the Oscar-nominated writer and director of The Croods, has directed the film.

Toney Award-winning Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will be seen in and as Vivo. He has written and performed quite a few songs for the film. Lisa Stewart, Michelle Wong and Oscar-winner Rich Moore have produced the film.

DeMicco and Quiara Alegria Hudes have written the film after consulting Roger Deakins, the Oscar-winning cinematographer, known for Blade Runner 2049. Tony and Grammy-award winner Alex Lacamoire is the music composer and executive music producer for the film. Miranda, Golden Globe winner Laurence Mark and Louis Koo Tin Lok are the executive producers of Vivo. It also features Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldaña, Juan de Marcos, Brian Tyree, Michael Rooker, Olivia Trujillo, Nicole Byer, Katie Lowes and Lidya Jewett in key roles.

In the new clip, Vivo is on an adventure of a lifetime with Gabi, a spirited tween who ‘dances to the beat of her drum.’ Their journey takes them through the shortcut passing through the Florida Everglades but the dynamic duo cannot be frightened away from their path even by alligators.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s voice as Vivo singing is the highlight of the clip. The song ‘Keep the Beat’ is upbeat and cheery and offers an inviting glimpse of the film's template. Vivo is somewhat unsure of the situation, but soon when Gabi (voiced by Ynairaly Simo) joins in the song, they both gel well and hop ahead.

The animated film will premiere across the globe on Netflix on August 6.
