Avatar: The Last Airbender

Just released a month back, Avatar: The Last Airbender has garnered immense viewership on Netflix. Adapted from Nickelodeon’s 2005 namesake animated show, this is the first ever live-action series ever made. The story had its first live-action film in 2010, where Noah Ringer played Aang and Dev Patel played Zuko. Ever since Netflix announced the live-action series, the streaming giant did not leave a single chance to promote the show time-to-time.

According to Google, Avatar: The Last Airbender is currently the second most searched animated show on streaming platforms. However, after releasing on February 22, today Netflix announced another exciting news, which blew everyone's mind. Avatar: The Last Airbender is going to have its Season 2 and Season 3 soon. Although Netflix did not reveal much about the dates or any glimpses, the news has already taken the internet by storm. While some fans urged Netflix to release the seasons soon, some requested for more episodes per season.

The series revolves around the journey of twelve-year-old Aang, the current Avatar and last survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, along with his friends Katara, Sokka, and Toph, as they strive to end the Fire Nation's war against the other nations and defeat Fire Lord Ozai before he conquers the world. It features Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousle as Sokka, Dallas James Liu as Zuko, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, and Paul Sun-Hyung as Iroh.

The live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender was announced in 2018, but due to the pandemic, it got delayed and the makers started the production in 2021. For the unfamiliar, Ian Ousle, previously appeared in 13 Reasons Why as Robby Corman.

Within one week of its release, Avatar: The Last Airbender garnered over 21 million views on Netflix. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the series kept on garnering immense viewership till date, solidifying it's status as one of the most loved shows on Netflix, after Strangers Things, You, Bridgerton, The Crown.
