The second season of Never Have I Ever dropped on Netflix in July and became an instant hit. The series revolves around Indian-American teenager Devi who continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home. She is also navigating new romantic relationships while getting torn between Paxton (Darren Barnet) and Ben (Jaren Lewison).
Talking about the series renewal for the third season, creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher said in a statement to Deadline, "We are so grateful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this story, and to the fans around the world who clamoured to see more of this badly behaved Indian teenager."
While Mindy is the executive producer, Lang along with being an executive producer is also the showrunner and writer.
Earlier this year, Kaling had revealed that she was eight months pregnant when she wrote the second season of the show. The actor and writer tweeted, "I was 8 months pregnant in quarantine during the hottest summer ever when I wrote this. I write in bed and my belly almost covered the laptop. It was so fun to disappear into the world of these fun Sherman Oaks teens!"
Both the seasons of Never Have I Ever have 10 episodes each with a runtime of half an hour approximately.
The hit dramedy also features Richa Moorjani, John McEnroe (narrator), Poorna Jagannathan, Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young in pivotal roles. Whereas Sendhil Ramamurthy makes a special appearance now and then.
