Neru is already streaming, while Animal will be available later this week. As for Agent, well, after multiple delays, it is hoped that it will arrive this week.
The Republic Day long weekend has a slew of Kannada films releasing in theatres, but there’s no word on any original titles dropping on OTT. Netizens have their hopes pinned on Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B being made available this week on Prime Video, although the streamer has not made an official announcement yet. So, if you are intending to stay home and enjoy the extended weekend, there are a few films from other industries that may interest you, as they will be available with Kannada audio.
Neru
This courtroom drama directed by Drishyam fame Jeethu Joseph and led by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal follows the case of a young blind sculptor, who is subjected to sexual violence and how she has to then prove the identity of her assailant. Mohanlal plays the special prosecutor fighting on her behalf. Also on the cast are Priya Mani, Siddique, Jagadeesh, Anaswara Rajan, Santhi Mayadevi, Ganesh Kumar.

Akhil Akkineni’s Agent released in theatres in April last year and tanked miserably at the box office. The film’s digital rights were picked up by Sony LIV and there have been multiple reports about a possible streaming date, only to have it pushed ahead in the last minute. As of now, it is supposed to drop on the streamer on Republic Day, but we will know for sure once it is actually made available. The Surender Reddy directorial also stars Mammotty, Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, among others.

Animal
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’ critically-panned but mega successful film, led by Ranbir Kapoor is ready for its OTT debut this week. Despite its thin plotline and excessive violence, the ‘family drama’ became the third highest grossing Hindi film of 2023. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Charu Shankar, etc.
