Beast is said to be the star's fifth film to have collected 200 crore,
Team Beast
Vijay's Beast is considered to be his weakest film in recent times in terms of screenplay and box office performance. But the action thriller is said to have done decent business in many territories. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial is said to be the star's fifth film to have collected 200 crore.
The director has now taken to his Twitter page to post a heartfelt note about the support he received from Vijay and the production house Sun Pictures to pull off the film. He also posted a picture from the team meeting hosted by Vijay recently.
His tweet read, "Thank you Vijay sir for hosting us. It was a fun-filled and memorable evening with the whole team. I take this moment to thank Vijay sir for his love and support. You were a charm to work with sir. I am truly honoured and shall cherish this experience for life. Your charisma and superstardom has taken this film all the way sir (sic)."
Nelson thanked Kalanithi Maran and Kavya Maran for the opportunity they provided to him and for bringing the film together. He also thanked the whole crew without which he thinks it would have been difficult to pull off this project.
Finally, he expressed gratitude to the audience for showering love on the film and making Beast a successful venture. Anirudh, Pooja Hegde, VTV Ganesh and art director Kiran were a few others who showed up at the team meeting.
Nelson will next direct Rajinikanth in Thalaivar 169 (tentative title) which is set to go on floors after June. Anirudh is teaming up again with the director; the project marks the duo's fourth collaboration after Kolavamu Kokila, Doctor and Beast. This movie will also be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
