MM Keeravaani’s composition doesn’t let heaviness of the lyrics affect its musical flow
We’re only three days away from the release of Bimbisara (on August 5), one of the most ambitious projects in Kalyan Ram’s career. Produced by K Hari Krishna under the actor’s home banner NTR Arts, the film is written and directed by Vassishta. Samyuktha Menon and Catherine Tresa play the female leads in the socio-fantasy with a time-travel dimension.
The third single from Bimbisara, Neetho Unte Chalu, was launched on Monday. Composed and lyricised by MM Keeravaani, the number is rendered by Mohana Bhogaraju and Sandilya Pisapati. The song elaborates on the happiness of a youngster when he’s in the company of his family and loved ones. He’s touched by their care and concern and is cherishing every moment of it.
The story of Bimbisara revolves around a ruthless king (after whom, the film’s named who transcends time and lands in the contemporary era to accomplish his ambition. The situation of the song is about the king being overwhelmed by the love showered upon him by his near and dear. Samyuktha Menon is his on-screen romantic interest in the modern era.
The musical segment with the lyrics “Cheyandinchamandi oka pasam…Runapasam vidhi vilasam..” partly resembles the title track of Yuva. However, it’s hard to not be moved by the lyrical richness emphasising on familial ties and how it can provide strength and a ray of hope to us, even in dire situations. The song is likely to have a greater impact when the viewer comprehends the emotional context.
The chorus troupe lends fine support to Mohana and Sandilya. One needs to give it to MM Keeravaani for staying relevant as a musician even after three decades of embracing filmdom. He has been very consistent in pushing the bar every time he takes up a new project. Keeravaani has also worked on Bimbisara’s background score. Chirrantan Bhatt and Varikuppala Yadagiri have also worked on the other tracks in the album.
