Neena Gupta worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye and Uunchai.
Goodbye directed by Vikas Bahl and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta, was released in 2022. The audience had never seen the two performers together on screen before, even though they have both been active in the industry for decades.
The actor recalled working with Bachchan and being impressed with his commitment to his craft despite his advanced age. She told Mid-Day that even when he wasn't working, he still managed to leave quite an impression on her. The weather during filming was really warm, and it was so hot that they constantly needed fans and air conditioning. They will all go sit in their vanity vans while he remains in place. After a while, Neena finally asked Bachchan if he wasn't feeling hot. He sat, jacketed, on the floor. She remarked, "Hats off," to his discipline on set.
Neena expressed pleasure at the film's expanding popularity. She also revealed her concerns regarding the duration of her role, given that her character ultimately dies in the film. The actor thought the script was great, but she didn't have many scenes. Neena asked Vikas how much of her character would be featured in the film given that she is already deceased.
He reassured her not to fret, as she would make an appearance in flashbacks. Even if one doesn't physically see her in the film, she will be present in their mind the entire time. That's why she enjoyed it so much. The plot hinges on how she meets her untimely end. Even if Neena's sequences are quite brief, they provide a glimpse into her relationships with her family, as she puts it.
The actor has had about five releases in the recent past, ranging from Goodbye to Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. And she claims to have wrapped up production on five additional films. She responds that she is busier now than she was in the '80s when she first started out. The actor is now working on three out of five major projects.
