If there’s one singer who is omnipresent in cinema across India now, it’s got to be Sid Sriram. The singer, who’s been singing for Tamil and Telugu films since 2013, was discovered by the Malayalam and Kannada film industries a few years later and is now set to debut in Bollywood too with the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund.

The first song in Sandalwood by Sid, Kadalanthe Kaada Kannu, was for the Kannada dubbed version of the Telugu film Dear Comrade, a number he sang in all the languages it was dubbed into. His first straight Kannada song came a couple of years later with Haayagide from the Nischith Korodi-Chaitra Rao starrer Tom and Jerry. This was quickly followed up by Nee Sigoovaregu from Bhajarangi 2, composed by Arjun Janya, which was one of the biggest hit numbers of the year. Shortly after came Muddu Neenu from Love You Rachchu with composer Manikanth Kadri and then Shuruvagide from Sakath by Judah Sandhy.

Sid’s first Kannada song in 2022 is Jagave Neenu from the film Love 360. The song, which was released over the weekend, reunites the singer with composer Arjun Janya yet again. Yet again, Arjun makes the most of Sid’s unique voice and range for a mellifluous number, picturised on newcomer Praveen and Rachana Inder (of Love Mocktail fame).

The lyrics of Jagave Neenu are the handiwork of director Shashank, who is also producing the film. The song is an intense journey of love, faith, affection and adoration. In an earlier conversation with OTTplay, Shashank had explained the crux of the film, saying, “The core of Love 360 is a love story, and how far a couple will go to safeguard it. It’s about unconditional love and standing by each other through thick and thin; hence the title, which signifies that all angles of love have been explored. But the film also involves a crime, which will bring in some intense moments in the narrative.”
