The much-awaited teaser of Lady Superstar Nayanthara's O2 is out. The film's production house released the same on its social media page today captioning the tweet, 'expect the unexpected'. They wrote, "Expect the Unexpected! Here’s #O2 Teaser 🔥#O2Teaser🔗 https://youtu.be/PQDSa8WMUGQ #O2onHotstar #Nayanthara @GsViknesh @that_Cameraman @Composer_Vishal @EditorSelva @prabhu_sr @disneyplusHSTam #O2TheFilm (sic)."

Going by the teaser, the film looks like a survival thriller, where a bus the protagonist (played by Nayanthara) is travelling in, meets with an accident and falls somewhere deep inside a mysterious underground sinkhole. Nayanthara is stuck inside with her son, who needs to carry an oxygen cylinder to breathe and their fellow passengers. Soon, there seems to face-offs between the passengers leading to arguments and escalating into physical fights. Nayanthara urges everyone to stay calm and says that if they maintained silence and not fight with each other, they could survive for another 12 hours. The teaser has piqued the curiosity among fans.

O2 will mark the directorial debut of GK Viknesh, a former associate of filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. The film has child artiste Rithvik in a crucial role. Music for the film is by Vishal Chandrasekar. While the cinematography is by Thamizh A Azhagan, editing is by Selva RK.

The title of the film was announced only a few days ago and the makers had revealed that Disney + Hotstar will be the film's digital partner. Taking to its social media handle, Disney + Hotstar shared, "Presenting the Title Reveal of O2 Tamil Movie. The film was earlier referred to as Oxygen. The film is said to have many edge-of-the-seat moments. O2 is likely to skip theatrical release and release directly on OTT. Nayanthara was last seen in her beau, director Vignesh Shivan's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
