The title of Lady Superstar Nayanthara's upcoming film was announced today and it has been titled O2. The film will have Disney + Hotstar as its digital partner. Taking to its social media handle, Disney + Hotstar shared, "Presenting the Title Reveal of O2 Tamil Movie. Coming soon on #DisneyplusHotstar #O2onHotstar #Nayanthara @DreamWarriorpic @prabhu_sr #Ritvick #GSViknesh #Thamizh #VishalChandrasekar (sic)." The film will mark the debut of GK Vignesh as director, who was a former associate of filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. The f ilm has child artiste Rithvik in a crucial role.

The film was earlier referred to as Oxygen, but now the makers have confirmed O2 as the title. O2 is said to be action-packed film with Nayanthara playing the protagonist. The film is likely to skip theatrical release.

In the meantime, Nayanthara is basking in the success of her recent release Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which was directed by her beau Vignesh Shivan. In the film, Nayanthara shared screenspace Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha. Though the film received mixed reviews from the critics, it has become a hit among the audience.

Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara paid a visit to Shirdi recently as a thanksgiving gesture. Vignesh, who shared a picture of the duo from the temple, on his social media page, captioned it, "From Shiridi wit my Kanmani.. gratitude trip to meet Sai Baba for all the lovely moments. #KaathuVaakulaRenduKaadhal #blessed #Blockbuster #ThanksGiving (sic)."

Music for the film by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by Sreekar Prasad. This is the second time that Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Vignesh Shivan are teaming up for a film. They were last seen in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015). Anirudh had scored the music for the film as well and the songs went on to become chartbusters. The chemistry between the duo worked well with the audience.
