The shoot of Jawan actress Nayanthara's new Tamil film, 'Mannangatti Since 1960', commenced today in Kodaikanal. The film, helmed by YouTuber-turned-filmmaker Dude Vicky, also stars Yogi Babu, Devadarshini, Gouri Kishan, Narendra Prasath, and others.

About 'Mannangatti Since 1960'

The Tamil word 'mannangatti' loosely translates to a clump of clay. It is frequently used as an expression to convey frustration or disappointment towards a person or situation.

The motion poster and title of the film reveal that it is a period drama. The poster has striking visuals of the Angel of Justice in the witness stand, followed by a close-up of closed eyes and a transition to a similar close-up of Nayanthara's eyes, along with glimpses of ancient coins.

One look at the motion poster and you get a hint of the intriguing possibility that Nayanathara's role in the film, which is about a clash between spirituality and the law, is to watch out for.

Crew of 'Mannangatti Since 1960'

Vicky, who has written the Tamil web series ‘Kalloori Saalai’ and ‘Thiruvalluvar Consultancy Services', is debuting as a film director with 'Mannangatti Since 1960'. Produced by Prince Pictures, the movie's music is being composed by Sean Roldan, with RD Rajasekhar handling the cinematography and G Madan in charge of editing.

Notably, this film marks Nayanthara's third collaboration with Yogi Babu, after starring together in 'Kolamaavu Kokila' (2018) and 'Airaa' (2019).
